An overview of the Whiting kitchenThe building work for this extension was undertaken by TSH construction and it is through their original recommendation that we were approached by Mr & Mrs Whiting. Working closely with the customer and the builder, we were able to be involved with the complete project from original build plans, through to the finished kitchen. Many of the features were a fusion of ideas from the customer and our own extensive experience, working with the room features to gain the best use of storage, whilst maintaining the appearance of space and light.

The ganite window sills sit directly onto the granite worktop to form a natural spill stopThe choice of granite worktops allowed for flowing curves as well as a practical hardwearing surface. Even the low lying window cills, also in granite, offer a greater work surface, whilst the step provides a natural barrier, in the event of a spillage.

It was decided that whilst the main unit fascias were to be light blue, it would be good to make the island unit in oak, to compliment the oak beams and to make it a feature, whilst the granite overhang allowed it to be used as a breakfast bar.

The inclusion of curved units by the doorways, give a nice sweeping opening to the room, whilst still maximising the available space.

Mrs Whiting writes:
The cooker run showing the curved unit in the foreground and the canopy above"We are absolutely delighted with our new kitchen. After nearly 3 months of building work, seeing the kitchen units, appliances and work tops coming through the door and being fitted within a day and a half was such a pleasure and made it all worthwhile. Having carried out plenty of research into different kitchen companies, we knew we had made the right decision in choosing Partridge Kitchens at our first meeting with Kevin. It was immediately evident that he took great pride in his kitchens and was full of good ideas and helpful advice, whilst taking our requirements on board. A plan was produced for discussion within days of our first meeting. Plenty of discussions ensued until everything was finalised - nothing was too much trouble. Kevin visited site a couple of times during the building work to make sure his original plans for the kitchen layout would still be feasible and any small adjustments needed due to, for example, slight changes in final wall measurements, were made with ease. We were particularly impressed with the professionalism of Kevin's team as they fitted the kitchen. The quality of the workmanship, their attention to detail and obvious wish to make sure everything was absolutely "spot on" was evident - true craftsmen and perfectionists! We would have no hesitation at all in recommending Partridge Kitchens to anyone and wish Kevin and his team every success in the future "
